Hip Hop and Fashion have such an interesting relationship. The interpretation of style is as diverse as the interpretation of the lyrics in hip hop. I recently styled a shoot for Kenton Magazine featuring new artist Jey P for our Music Meets Fashion Editorial. When I first got Jey P’s name, I immediately went to his sound cloud page to listen to his music. Here, I got a feel of his aesthetic, and challenged myself to know his style before even meeting him. Pulling looks mainly from Mark McNairy, Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen, and PRPS, I was confident that our aesthetics would match. This resulted in looks that were relaxed, yet intentional and intelligent.
