The number five has always been a great number for me. My name, latin for the fifth, proves that five is part of my character. Therefore, its only natural that in the fifth anniversary of Avenue Swank, I’m able to travel internationally doing what I love. I start my travels to Italy this week, and there are some essentials that will be on the flight with me. Somehow, I was able to pack light (Carryon roller and a backpack), so my in-cabin entertainment will be minimal and simple.
Read: Godsent by Richard Burton
I love my Jesus (much more than Yeezus of course), and while I know that there has only been one birth by a virgin, I have found the beginning of this new fictional thriller by Richard Burton to be very entertaining. Especially the style references in the first few chapters; the mention of air Jordan’s crica 1990’s caught my eye instantly. The book is beyond some religious controversy; its a well-written novel about a fictional account that draws parallel to a reality many of us base our spritual foundation. It’s OK. Really.
Listen: Yeezus by Kanye West
Speaking of Yeezus, yeah, I listened, and plan on analyzing each lyric while on my flight to Florence. Blood on the Leaves will be the natural song on repeat, but I’m sure 2 of the 8 hours on my flight will be dedicated to understanding what Assassin is saying on “I’m in it.” Oh, and my apologies to the flight attendants if they have croissants on board.
Revive: Menaji 911 Eye gel
This is one of my favorite skincare lines out there – as part of my daily routine, I need to keep the eye gel in my carryon for when its time to depart. I have a feeling that I will be going full blast as soon as I step out of the plane – well, once I go through customs and baggage claim..
