Tickets have been on sale for months now, and the lineup has finally been announced for the Budweiser Made in America Festival. Featuring Jay Z and Pearl Jam, the two-day festival has three stages, and covers over 9 hours of music each day. it could almost be considered a mini Coachella for the East Coast; perhaps even an outdoor Essence Music Festival. No matter what you call it, nine hours of standing, dancing, and singing about your 99 problems requires a style thats comfortable, weather-friendly, and intsagram-ready. Here is my style guide for Made in America essentials – featuring Made in America designers.
Backpack – First, check the website www.madeinamericafest.com for items that you cannot bring into the festival. After you do that, put everything else in your backpack so that you can walk around with ease. The Remsen camouflage leather backpack from leather craftsman Logan Zane has the perfect style and function for an outdoor music festival.

Warby Parker Thatcher Sunglasses
Sunglasses – the Rocky stage sits high against a backdrop of the Philadelphia Art Museum – at certain points of the day, the sun will directly be in view with the stage. Having a good pair of sunglasses will shield the sun rays, and you may even get a pass for wearing them after sunset when Jay-Z gets on stage. The Thatcher sunglasses from Warby Parker are a great shape that works on every bone structure, and comes in cool color ways.
Sunscreen – You will have about 4 hours of direct sunlight while outside, so be sure to bring sunscreen while you pack your sunglasses as well. For men, I recommend the oil-free sun guard by Jack Black. It wont clog your pores, and it can withstand the sweating induced by 9 hours of first pumping and shoulder brushing.
Footwear – this is easy for guys because everything we wear is flat. For the ladies, I recommend a good pair of flats, but leave the ballet flats at home. Put on a pair of brogues or oxfords to show your recognition of the changing season and transition from summer to fall. The new Alisa Oxfords from Cole Haan are fun and full of attitude. They come in a wide rang of colors, so you can choose the best for your sense of style.
No matter what the weather forecasts said earlier this week, its always a chance of rain during Labor Day weekend. A packable anorak by Batten Sportswear can fit into your backpack, and would be the best way to prepare for the rain; no interfering with your summer look by tying it around your waist.
See you at the Made In America Festival! I’ll be on instagram sharing photos of my favorite Made in America styles, so be on the lookout!
