After a strong, breathtaking Spring Collection with a powerful message behind it, Zang Toi took a retreat to Switzerland for a time of cleansing and reflection. As a result, his Fall 2012 Collection was airy, pure and elegant. Inspired by the southerwestern Swiss village of German-speaking Gstaad, the collection boasted looks of what any glamorous, self-reflective ski excursion should entail. The ivory pieces were striking – the handmade beading was exquisite, creating a picturesque image of the snowcapped hills of he Alps. Using double-faced wool, Zang crafted a soft elegance with the sharp, powerful aesthetic of a woman’s suit.
A standout piece was the ruby couture silk gown – the silhouette was simple at first glance, but as it passed you, you noticed an exquisite train with a hand beaded musical garland. This look was a one-of-a-kind experience that must be framed after one wear. See below for top looks from the Zang Toi Fall 2012 Runway Show.
